Danona is a manufacturing company with more than 45 years of experience in the production of furniture. The manufacture is focused on the modern furniture: Bedrooms, Young bedrooms and Living rooms, which are distributed in the traditional way, with the presence in the best and most efficient stores of Spain, or the way of distribution of collective equipments or contract.

Danona also manufactures products focused on cost, with different processes used before, with modern and classic aesthetic and designed to export mostly in our markets. Danona is a leader company witch manufactures modern furniture in Spain. It belongs to Corporación Mondragón, one of the most important corporations of Spain, with a important relevance abroad.

At present, the Corporación Mondragón take up more than 100.000 persons, working in 260 companies placed all around the world. Recently, in the heart of the corporation has been created the GPUPO DEL MUEBLE (furniture group), created with Danona and another four companies. They have merged to share synergies to arrive in the future to the best positions, competitivity, quality and profitability.

Thanks to GRUPO DEL MUEBLE, we can adapt companies’ structures to the real needs of each one, generating important savings in technology, machines, manufacture surface or installation inversions. These resources have gone back to of our factory with the latest productive processes, the new systems of quality control and working together in the development, investigation and shopping area.

The competition and the coexistence between the different enterprises dedicated to the manufacture of furniture and the incipient number of the specialised workers of the sector that wanted to create a movement to associate in cooperatives brought about a new way to formulate an enterprise to improve their economical and work conditions, and in the same time, to build a new strong and specialised enterprise. Like that, DANONA SOCIEDAD COOPERATIVA was founded, at the beginning of the spring of 1961. The fist building of new construction of 1.000m2 was placed in the vicinity of Landeta.

Although the unfortunate fire that was occurred in 1965, Danona Sociedad Cooperativa continued growing and it made a great step in his history with the incorporation of Caja Laboral and Lagun Aro (An important entity that got the different cooperatives of the Basque Country together) in January of 1968. This event allowed to Danona to consolidate like enterprise and to have a good position for the future challenges that were approaching. In 1969, Danona absorbed Euskalduna (a cooperative that also worked in the furniture sector) and favoured the fusion with another two local cooperatives; Cooperativa Obrera del Mueble y Loyola S.C.I. With the association of these four companies was created the great enterprise that we know nowadays.

Since the foundation of the enterprise until nowadays, its important to emphasize the inclusion of Danona in Mondragon Corporación Cooperativa in the Home Division in 1991 and the recently creation of GRUPO DEL MUEBLE. DANONA, S. Coop. in partnership with another four big companies of this corporation, which are dedicated to the manufacture of the furniture. Danona is a manufacturer of furniture with 45 years of experience in the sector of the home furnishing. His manufacture is destined to the living room and bedroom including young bedrooms. The wide catalogue has products that satisfied the esthetical and functional needs of the clients. The market of DANONA can be divided into three variant:

• The Traditional Market supposes the 65% of the total sales of Danona. The commercialized product is for the equipment of living rooms, bedrooms and young bedrooms, with a modern style and a medium cost. These modular systems are adapted to the clients needs. This catalogue is made with a lot of different references. The manufacture of the products for the traditional market is ordered upon request and the batches are not big. Most part of products are destined to the national market.
   

• Discount Market supposes the 25% of the total sales of Danona. The commercialized product is for the equipment of living rooms and bedrooms with a classic style and a medium-low cost. They are specific products for the big chains, with few references and a lot of rotations. The manufacture of the products of Discount Market is according to the stock and the braches are big.
   

• Contract Market supposes the 10% of the total sales of Danona. They are specific products addressed to the equipment of collective environments like residents, hotels, etc. They are products with a specific development adapting to the client’s proposal and designs. The customer service of Danona, includes the coordination to install the necessary complements. The braches are medium and the products are commercialised in the national and international markets.
